What is the technical difference?
The main difference with the All-on-4™ technique is the way in which the implants are placed in the jawbone. Implants are normally inserted into the jaw at a 90 degree angle but with the All-on-4™ procedure, two of these (the ones at the rear of the jaw) are inserted tilted at a 45 degree angle towards the front of the jaw bone where the bone density is higher.
What is the benefit of angled implant placement?
The mechanics of implants placed at an angled position means that as a unit, the 4x implants are joined or braced together to form a strong platform, so any vertical biting forces are evenly distributed throughout the entire jawbone. Also, the implants point towards the front of the jaw to use all available bone and to take advantage of the additional bone density available for anchorage in this region.

What is the general procedure like?
You will undergo a thorough examination of your teeth and gums, followed by a CT scan and 3D implant surgery planning. Any teeth that need to be extracted will be removed first under local anaesthetics or general anaesthesia, if required. The 4x premium quality dental implants will then be placed in the jawbone, according to a digital model of your treatment, using the latest computer software. You will then rest in a treatment lounge while the technician fabricates your provisional bridge.
